High Islamic Institute held a celebration on the occasion of Kutlu Dogum

 

        The High Islamic Institute (HII) in Sofia also joined in this year’s celebrations within the Week of the sacred birth of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) – Kutlu Dogum 2017. The official celebration in the Institute was organized in cooperation with Grand Mufti’s Office of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria and Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia. It took place on 23rd of April, 2017 (Sunday) and like all other celebrations in the framework of the Week of the sacred birth of this year, passed under the title: “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave”.

       Among the participants were not only students from HII but also students from the three religious schools I the country. Among the official guests of the celebration were the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed, the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, the Regional Mufti of Sofia Mustafa Izbishtali and other employees of Grand Mufti’s Office, the directors of the three religious schools in the country and others.

        The festive program in the HII was extremely rich and varied. It was opened with reading of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Mustafa Kaylitski, student in HII. Welcoming speeches were delivered by the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and the Regional Mufti of Sofia Mustafa Izbishtali. The lecturer from the Institute Dr. Sefer Hasanov delivered a lecture on the topic: “Educational approach of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)”. The celebration included also reading of poems and performances of ilyahi related to the Prophet (pbuh).

 

      Within the program were held also several competitions in different categories: artistic reading of the Holy Qur’an, memorization of 40 ahadith, essay writing, writing poetry and drawing a picture. The best were rewarded.

     Participation in the program took also the youngest ones – the children from the Qur’an course at Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia, who answered questions related to the life of the Prophet (pbuh). The small participants also received gifts before leaving the celebration.
