11^th National Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam was completed

On 12^th of September, Tuesday, completed the National Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam. Host of the event was RS Momchilgrad – RMO Kardzhali. The competition was held in two stages.

The first stage took place on 11^th of September in the premises of RS Momchilgrad where the students had written and oral tests, they participated in sports and entertaining games and in an excursion to the mosque “The seven girls” (Yedi kazlar) in the village of Podkova.

The second stage of the competition took place in the library club “New life” in the town of Momchilgrad and was cultural and artistic program. In it participated children from 12 RMOs who showed their skills in five categories: Qur’an reading, adhan (call for prayer) reciting, reciting poems, performance of ilyahi and presenting a play on a religious theme.

The program was opened with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by the imam of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne. After that there were delivered welcoming speeches on behalf of the host Beyhan Mehmed – Regional Mufti of Kardzhali and the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

At the end of the cultural program were announced the names of the children who showed maximum achievements in the different levels and age categories.

After the assessment of the jury – Halil Hodzhov, Sami Fazliyski and Orhan Osman – were announced the winners in the first level, category from 6 to 10 years – Salih Dzhihan from RMO Pazardzhik, category from 11 to 13 years – Gyulizar Seid from RMO Aytos, category from 14 to 16 years – Tanzhu Hristov from RMO Razgrad. Winner in second level was Esma Metevska from RMO Smolyan, third level – Aylin Vuycheva from RMO Smolyan and the winner from fourth level is Fatme Avushina from RMO Blagoevgrad. This year the winners received cash prize of 150 leva, a plaque and a golden coin, a Qur’an with digital pen reader, school bag with school supplies and books from the editions of Grand Mufti’s Office.   

Among the guests of the event were the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali, some of the regional muftis, guests from the Republic of Turkey – the Mufti of Edirne Emrullah Üzüm, the imam of the Selimiye Mosque Alpcan Çelik and Hoca Nuri Böcekbakan, the chairman of the Municipal Council in Momchilgrad Yumer Hyusein, the directors of the religious schools – Ahmed Bozov – the director of RS Momchilgrad and Sherif Hyusnyu – Director of RS “Nyuvvab” in Shumen.

“We are pleased with the result. Our aim was to make the children happy, who worked tirelessly within two months and showed great success in this competition. We prepared prizes for all. There was no child to leave the competition without a prize. Because they all are winners!” shared the organizes.
