A regular meeting with imams was held in the “Charshi mosque” in Haskovo 

Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo held a regular meeting with the imams. It took place on February 12, 2018 (Monday) in the “Charshi mosque” in Haskovo.

The Regional Mufti Basri Eminefendi welcomed all imams and presented the variety of topics on the agenda.

The first topic was dedicated to the organization of Hajj and Umrah, focusing mainly on the upcoming Umrah in March, organized by Grand Mufti’s Office. Due to the remaining short time till the end of the campaign the Regional Mufti advised the imams to remind and urge the Muslims from the region who would like to participate to submit their documents as soon as possible.

An analysis of the past campaign in support of orphans during 2017 – Orphans’ Week was also made. Basri Eminefendi thanked the imams for the efforts they made during the charity initiative and emphasized that they had given their result.

The participants in the meeting discussed also undertaking measures for increasing the activity in the field of “Irshad”. He focused on renewal of the work of the imams who have to be more active in their work among people, most of all outside the mosques – to be closer to the people by participating in their daily life and solving their problems. The Mufti payed attention also to the efforts that have to be made for increasing the number of the year-round Qur’an courses which in Haskovo region are already four so far.

In the next topics the imams discussed the possibilities for supporting the Muslim Denomination as a whole and recruiting more candidates for the training courses for imams and for the workshops organized by Grand Mufti’s Office.

In December 2017 Regional Mufti’s Office Haskovo hosted the graduation ceremony of 38 people from all over the country, who completed the training course for imams in the city of Shumen and in the village of Ustina.

“This motivated us to search for more people to participate in these courses”, said the Mufti of Haskovo Basri Eminefendi.

The meeting ended with an analysis of the subscription campaign for “Muslims” magazine for year 2018. It was found out that after the efforts made by the imams the number of the subscribers has increased compared to their number from the past year.

At the end of the working meeting the imams discussed also the idea for organization of an excursion to Çanakkale, Republic of Turkey.
