Greeting Address on behalf of the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr

Dear Muslims,

It is well-known that the nice moments pass quickly. So quickly also flew the month of Ramadan, the month in which we had the opportunity to present our wished to Allah, The Most High.

Today we celebrate and the feast is an expression of our satisfaction with the fact that we have fulfilled our duty. This is a rehearsal for the Day of Qiyamah (The Resurrection Day) but the difference is that after this rehearsal we can correct our mistakes while on the Day of Qiyamah we will not have this chance.

Eid is the time to remember the mission with which we have been sent to this world, our duties to Allah, The Most High, as well as the opportunities which we have.

Yes, these are the opportunities which are given to us, while many others are deprived of them – like the opportunity to right a wrong which the people who had left this world no longer have. We have the opportunity to go to the mosque, which opportunity the Muslims in Myanmar in Eastern Turkistan do not have.

The opportunity to be with our loved ones on the Day of Eid is a blessing from Allah, of which are deprived a number of people throughout the world due to different reasons – because they are driven out from their homeland due to wars. These are a small part of the endless opportunities which Allah, The Most High, has given us, and for which we do not find time to thank Him.

Let us also not forget His words: “If you are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed.” Therefore showing gratitude to Allah is only in our favour and we are grateful to Him for giving us the honor to meet Ramadan and to make worshipping during it, to thank Him for every moment which we can experience.

But the gratitude that includes all blessings is to be Muslims. This is the greatest blessing which Allah, The Most High, has given us and from which many people round the world are deprived. This is the reality on which we have to ponder and reasonably to benefit from it. May Allah accept the worshipping of everyone and to brighten the hearts and minds of everyone so that they could understand the wisdom, set in every part of our life.
