Greeting Address on the behalf of the Grand Mufti of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha 2018

Dear Muslims, dear compatriots,

Eid Al-Adha is a unique experience of happy moments, spent together with relatives and friends. But the most important is that these moments remind us of the time when the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) faced the Muslims at Arafat and gave his final sermon. On this day Muhammad (s.a.s.) put a new beginning of the human history, saying:

"All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white; [none have superiority over another] except by piety and good action."

These word makes it clear that the era of discrimination on the basis of ethnic and racial hatred is over. What is going to save the mankind is the kindness that warmth the heart of both the needy and those who is kind. It is difficult to explain the happiness experienced by the one who gives and sees the joy in the eyes of the poor man. This is the moment when everyone feels safe and secure. This feeling is only familiar to those who have experienced it.

Dear believers,

People nowadays need not only material, but also a moral support, because a great part of the society has fallen into spiritual deprivation and darkness. In these blessed days we must find a way to get close to these people and give them a hand. Such goodness is greater than handing sadaqah and qurban meatout.

Another important moment in the farewell sermon of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) is observing the women’s rights, for which he says: "Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers". For that reason in these days we should revise the relationships with our mothers, sisters, wives and daughters.

And in edition, Eid Al-Adha is a time of reconciliation, forgiveness and delight. Do not forget our parents and relatives. Let us share our joy with neighbors and colleagues. Let's be together and pray to Allah (С.Т.) to guide and protect us, and protect all the Muslims.

Wish you a Blessed Eid Al-Adha!

Kurban bayramınız mubarek olsun vesselаmu aleykum ve rahmetullahi ve berakatuh!

With regards:

Dr. Mustafa Alish Hadzhi,

Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria
