Nearly 150 imams and members of Muslim boards of trustees met at a working meeting in Aytos

  

Attheinititative of  Regional Mufti’s Office – Aytos on February 12, 2019 in the mosque of the town took place a working meeting in which participated nearly 150 imams and representatives of the Muslim boards of trustees on the territory of Burgas District.

The meeting was opened with recitation of parts from the Holy Qur’an by the imam of the village of Maglen, Aytos region. Then the floor was given to the Regional Mufti of Aytos Selyahattin Muharrem who welcomed all participants. Official guest of the working meeting was the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

The agenda of the held working meeting included presentation of a report on the activities of Regional Mufti’s Office – Aytos for the last year, 2018, which was delivered by the mufti Muharrem. He informed the participants also about the planned activities for the present year, 2019.

Within the meeting were discussed a number of topics related to the work of the local imams, as well as such related to the work of the Muslim boards of trustees in the region of Burgas. The participants addressed current issues about the already officially launched campaign of Grand Mufti’s Office “Hajj 2019”.    

The official guest of the working meeting Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi also took an active part in it. He made a brief reminder about the importance of the work of the imams as Muslim religious figures, as well as about the importance of the Muslim boards of trustees. Dr. Hadzhi took the opportunity also to address the topic about the Law on the Religious Denominations and the adopted final amendments to it at the end of the last year, 2018.

At the end of the working meeting a discussion took place between all participants where questions of different nature were asked.

The event in the town of Aytos was closed with a dua (supplication) made by the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.
