Hijab-wearing woman among Apple's new emojis

 

In the Era of the digital communications for a forth consecutive year 14th of July is marked as the World Emoji Day. On this occasion a couple of days ago the multinational company Apple presented its upcoming new update which will include 69 new emojis.

One of them is…of hijab-wearing woman.

The idea is of a 16-years-old girl from Saudi Arabia who today lives in Belin. Rayouf Alhumedhi achieved her idea still in the past year 2016, but the giant Apple only now announced this.

With regard to her idea to be created “headscarved” emoji Rayouf justifies: “We are also people and we have to be presented as a part of the diversity of this world. Emogis should not be treated as a great thing but this is another one a bit more different and innovative approach people like me to be heard and recognized from this world” cited by Nytimes.com.

Among the new emogis there are also such of breastfeeding woman, meditating person, bearded man, zebra, etc.

The new emojis are expected to be accessible for the consumers around the world in September.
