Violent clashes, three killed and hundreds injured in Jerusalem:

Chronology of the Friday day

21st of July was the second consecutive Friday on which Masjid Al-Aqsa – the third sacred place for the Muslims, remained empty. After the clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces during the night between Thursday and Friday and the expected extreme tension on Friday, the Israeli cabinet was convened for an extraordinary meeting the same evening.

The meeting ended with the decision the metal detectors on the entrances of Masjid al-Aqsa to stay during the Friday day and after it.

On Friday thousands of Palestinians responded to the appeal of the Islamic religious institutions in Jerusalem from the previous days for this on 21st of July the mosques to be closed and the Palestinians to gather for a Friday prayer in front of the walls and the entrances of the mosque Al-Aqsa.

The Israeli authorities have responded to this initiative from Palestinian side with even more serious reinforcement of the current strong security measures.

Yet from the early morning on Friday the access to Masjid Al-Aqsa was strongly restricted. For that purpose at the post were mobilized additional number of Israeli security services and were placed many metal barriers. Before the coming the time for the Friday prayer the Israeli militants blocked the access to the Old City of Jerusalem. Right to pass they gave only to old people and to those who live on the territory of the Old City.

All already imposed and additionally undertaken restrictions on behalf of Israel led to a very serious escalation of tension. Palestinians filled the streets near the blocked zone in Jerusalem. There were overcrowdings also in the near for the Old City regions as well as at the checkpoints. For the suppression of the demonstrations, on behalf of Israel was used tear-gas, water, police dogs as well as opened fire. There were arrested dozens of demonstrators, including also injured.

The scope of the clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli army was not concentrated only in the Old City. There were such on the territory of the entire occupied Palestine – in Gaza and on the West coast, most of all at the checkpoints.

The clashes ended with three victims – three young lives of Palestinians were taken away, all the three with the name Muhammad – Muhammad Sharaf, Muhammad Abu Gannam and Muhammad Lafi. Hundreds were injured. According to data of the Red Crescent in Palestine – the wounded on Friday are nearly 400.

The day of 21st of July passed with many demonstrations against what is happening with the mosque Al-Aqsa. Protests for defending the rights of the Palestinians and against thetremendous security on behalf of Israel were held in a number of countries around the world, among them Turkey, Jordan, Tunis, Algeria, Malaysia and others.
