Campaign “Together for Hitrino” of the Muslim Denomination – what we achieved?

Soon after the tragedy happened in Hitrino the Muslim Denomination in Bulgaria launched a campaign to support the victims. From 23^rd of December, 2016 the Muslims throughout the country had the opportunity to join the campaign through donations in the nearest for them regional mufti’s offices – with money or with durable food products, household utensils and hygiene and sanitary materials. It was foreseen the campaign to continue one month but due to the severe weather conditions it was extended till the end of February this year.

In the campaign actively participated Muslims from different parts of Bulgaria through the regional mufti’s office at the Muslim Denomination.

According to the information from a report of Social Department at Grand Mufti’s Office from February, 2017, the total amount of the raised cash donations within the campaign “Together for Hitrino” is over 7000 leva. Additionally in the regions were collected food essentials – nearly 6 500 kg is the total collected amount. The donations included also more than 300 kg hygiene and sanitary materials. Smaller part of the donations of the Muslims for the victims in Hitrino were clothes, blankets and household utensils.

Social Department at Grand Mufti’s Office expresses its immense gratitude to all regional mufti’s offices, Muslim Boards of Trustees and most of all to all people from the settlements who took part in the campaign and helped for its implementation. And it also wishes to all affected families on the territory of Hitrino fast psycho-emotional and material recovery after what happened.
