Grand Mufti was a guest of a charity bazaar of the International Women’s Club – Sofia

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi was a guest of the opening of the annual charity bazaar of the International Women’s Club – Sofia. At the invitation of the Turkish Ambassador H.E. Süleyman Gökçe the Grand Mufti participated in the presentation of the Turkish stand at the bazaar. The guest and the host tried their skills in the art of Erbu.
Erbu is one of the most ancient arts for decoration. It is known that the name comes from “Ar-bu”, which in Central Asian Turkish dialect means water surface. It is assumed that this art appeared in 9th century in Turkestan. Its samples are disseminated in Europe and America under the title “Turkish paper”.
The initiative takes place for 20th consecutive time. All of the collected money will be donated for funding charity projects. 50 countries were presented at the stands of the bazaar. For the entertainment of the visitors there was a program with performances throughout the day. The citizens and the guests of Sofia had the opportunity to try and buy dishes and drinks from all over the world, works of art, gifts, toys, books and souvenirs.
