US Ambassador in our country Herro Mustafa visited Grand Mufti’s Office

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi welcomed at a meeting the US Ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa. The visit of the diplomat to Grand Mufti’s Office was on January 16 (Thursday), 2020. This was the first visit of Mustafa since the beginning of her the term of office in Bulgaria. She was accompanied by Alwyn Thomson, Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at the US Embassy. On behalf of the Muslim Denomination in the official meeting participated also Vedat Ahmed, Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council, and Dzhelal Faik, Secretary General of Grand Mufti’s Office.

Ambassador Mustafa thanked the Grand Mufti for the opportunity to meet and speak with the representatives of the Muslim community in Bulgaria.

The host informed the high-ranking guests about the life of the Muslim community in the country and the activities of the Denomination, and expressed his gratitude to the diplomats for their visit.

The meeting ended with mutual wishes for fruitful work and expressed willingness for future meeting, as well as with exchange of gifts. The US Ambassador presented as a gift to the Grand Mufti a Bulgarian rose as a motif of her unique Ambassador’s Coin as a sign of respect, and the Grand Mufti in his turn send his high-ranking guest with a gift – a brass rose on a wooden panel as a symbol of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the peace.
