Mufti’s representation – Provadia hosted the first for 2020 working meeting with the imams from Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna. It took place on February 27 (Thursday) and official guests were the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov and the Regional Mufti of Targovishte Nazif Rasimov.

After the meeting was opened by the host Nuray Shukri the three newly appointed imams in the team of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna, who graduated the year-long training course for imams “Mustafa Chatlak” in the city of Shumen, were presented. Ali Veli Ali is the new imam in the town of Suvorovo, Erkan Isris Mahmud – in the village of General Kiselovo (Municipality of Valchi dol), and Hyusein Mustafa Hyusein – in the village of Ezerovo (Municipality of Beloslav).

The participants were informed about the report on the work of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna on the activities in 2019 – there were reported the results of the various campaigns of Grand Mufti’s Office and other important issues. The imams discussed the monthly fundraising campaigns for imam hakki, that are set with the official order of the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

One of the important for all imams issues, which were part of the agenda of the meeting, was related to the upcoming exams for imams, organized by the Muslim Denomination. They aim to check the preparation and the qualification of each of the clerics in Grand Mufti’s Office. The imams from Varna region will be tested on March 21 this year in the town of Provadia.

During the working meeting were also discussed other topics such as uniform pricing for religious rituals of the imams in the entire country.

“We decided to ask the imams themselves about this issue and each of them to offer a price for the different religious rites and at the end we will process the results and Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna will present one general proposal to Grand Mufti’s Office.” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Secretary of the Mufti’s Office in Varna Fahredin Mollamehmedov.

The Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov informed all imams about the upcoming Hajj 2020 campaign. Nazif Rasimov from Regional Mufti’s Office – Targovishte also took part in the meeting by addressing the topic about the relation between the imam and the society, the role of the Islamic cleric as a mediator, as well as that he should be an example to the society.

The meeting ended with a discussion on other matters related to the condition of the furniture and the sounding systems in the mosques, the renewal of the religious clothing of the imams and others.
