Representatives of Grand Mufti’s Office and of the Higher Islamic institute visited Yarmouk University in the Kingdom of Jordan

During the visit to Jordan of the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and his deputy Birali Birali, where they are accompanied by lecturers and a group of students from the Higher Islamic Institute (HII), they visited the emblematic Yarmouk University in the city of Irbid in the Kingdom of Jordan.

The delegation from Bulgaria was welcomed in the university by the Rector Prof. Dr. Zeydan Kafafi on January 28 this year (Tuesday), and there were also lecturers from the different faculties at the higher educational institution. During the held meeting the two parties discussed the possibilities for the students from the HII to improve their foreign language training in Arabic through attending courses in the Yarmouk University.

“The students from the HII had the opportunity to get acquainted also with the facilities and the opportunities for education in one of the Arab universities in the world, which was an unforgettable experience for them” – the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali commented in connection with the held visit.

After their meeting with the Rector Prof. Dr. Zeydan Kafafi, the group from Bulgaria visited also the Faculty of Theology of the Yarmouk University where the different departments of the faculty were presented to them. Among the classical theological fields and specialties, the Dean of the Faculty presented also the two newly-opened specialties – “Islamic Media” and “Islamic Economy”.

Yarmouk University is the second largest Jordanian university with a functioning Faculty of Theological Studies, and the Grand Mufti himself, Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, is a graduate of exactly this faculty. The educational institution has good traditions, related to Arabic language training. It is interesting the fact that the largest number of students is exactly in the Faculty of Theological Studies, and the major part of them are foreign students.
