Boyko Borisov: We must not allow separation in the society and differentiation of Muslims and Christians

We must not allow separation in the society and differentiation of Muslims and Christians. Around this thesis united the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and the Grand Mufti of the Muslim Denomination in Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

“Confrontation on religious, ethnic and social status does not solve problems”, categorically said the Prime Minister Borisov who received on a working meeting the Grand Mufti, the acting Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed and the Secretary General of the mufti’s office Ahmed Ahmedov.

“We must not allow confrontation but we all must carefully keep the ethnic peace”, emphasized the Prime Minister. “We have a wonderful model of a peaceful co-existence. It is our responsibility to preserve this model”, added Borisov. He further said that it is necessary to preserve the wisdom in the society without allowing the traditions regarding the profession of the religion to be changed. The Prime Minister added that we still can be proud of the fact that we have not allowed a Bulgarian citizen to be on the side of the so called “Islamic State”. According to him this should not calm us but should engage us in undertaking all necessary measures to prevent this.

“Grand Mufti’s Office, organizing the life of the Muslim in Bulgaria, makes everything possible their religious life not to be placed under external influence”, said the Grand Mufti. According to him as better the Denomination is functioning the lower such risks are.

Mustafa Hadzhi raised in front of the Prime Minister the topic regarding the need of university where the local religious leaders to be educated and this to be done under the supervision of the state authorities and the Grand Mufti’s Office.

“With joint effort, including support from the state, I believe that we could manage to preserve the maturity of the Bulgarian nation, emphasized the Grand Mufti.
